Sharad Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day of Ashvin month. Sharad Purnima is also acknowledged as Kumara Purnima or Kojagari Purnima, which is one of the most notable Purnima or Full Moon nights for Indians and In 2023 it will be observed on 28th October, Saturday.
According to traditional belief, On Sharad Purnima, the Moon showers its remedial powers on the earth. Therefore, believers make the most of this chance by getting the blessings of Moon's lights. The shine of the full moon delivers special pleasure. It is considered that on this day, the Moon through its radiance showers Amrit on earth. Legend states that Chandra Dev (Moon God) shows with all the 16 Kalas or phases on this day. Some people glorify it as a celebration of harvest as it signifies the completion of the rainy season.
1)Goddess Lakshmi blesses those who are Sleepless-

Sharad Purnima is also identified as Kojagari Purnima. Sharad Purnima signifies the “Sharad Ritu” (season). The festival also has religious significance. Devotees pray to Goddess Lakshmi on Sharad Purnima. It is considered that on this night Goddess Lakshmi visits from place to place searching Kojagari (indicating “Who is awake”) and blessing those who are awake. Hence, people don’t sleep this night and spend the whole night chanting, dancing, and remembering god. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi is born on Sharad Purnima.
2)Sharad Purnima is Glorified as Kumar Purnima in Orissa-

In Orissa, it is admired as
Kumar Purnima. Kumar or Kartikeya, the proud son of Lord Shiva, is born on this
day. Unmarried daughters who wish for a good-looking husband worship Kartikeya,
who is considered the most attractive among the gods.
3)Sharad Purnima is admired as Raas Purnima in Vrindavan-

Sharad Purnima is praised as
Raas Purnima in Vrindavan and it is considered that Lord Krishna played
Maha-Raas with Gopis on Sharad Purnima. After listening to Krishna's flute,
Radha and the Gopis came out of their houses in the evening of Sharad Purnima.
It is believed that Radha and the Gopis of Vrindavan danced with Lord Krishna
throughout the full moon night of Sharad Purnima.
